What it is like
Playa El Candado is a welcoming, compact beach directly associated with El Candado Marina. It is 200 metres long and 30 metres wide, with dark sand, a semi-urban character and a semi-urban waterfront. Its environmental distinctiveness is reinforced by the presence of Limonium malacitanum, a protected plant noted in official observations. Access is easy on foot or by car from Avenida Salvador Allende, with fewer than 50 parking spaces and an interurban bus connection. Practical facilities include showers, a nautical service and a sailing club.
