Playa de Las Salinas is an urban beach 1,350 metres long and 90 metres wide, integrated into the built-up area of Roquetas de Mar. Its name derives from the former San Rafael salt pans, while the beach combines coarse-grained sand and grey gravel beside a wetland protected by Red Natura 2000 and a Posidonia barrier reef. The seafront promenade and vegetation accompany moderate waves. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the A-358, with more than 100 parking spaces and an interurban bus service. There are showers, restaurants, hire services, sports areas, a children's area and diving.
