Playa de L'Estartit is a large urban beach of golden sand, 3,196 metres long and 67 metres wide, from which the Medes Islands can be seen. Its protected surroundings are linked to the Parque Natural and the marshes of the former mouth of the Ter, incorporated into the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà complex. The promenade runs alongside a beach with moderate waves and wind, divided into three sectors according to the observations. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the C-31 or GI-641, with parking for more than 100 vehicles, assisted bathing and nautical services.
