What it is like
Playa de O Porto, or Praia do Porto in the entry’s description, is a semi-urban beach measuring 65 metres in length and 15 metres in width, surrounded by vegetation and composed of sand, rounded stones and rock. It lies beside a cliff and fishermen’s huts, reached by a flight of steps. It is a windy stretch with strong waves that almost completely disappears at high tide; protection as a Site of Community Importance (SCI) adds a natural framework to its surroundings. It is reached by car from the Porto turn-off on the DP-3603, with an interurban bus 3 kilometres away.
