What it is like
Playa de las Coloradas is an isolated pebble beach extending for 170 metres along the coast of Arucas. Its semi-urban frontage and promenade create a distinctive relationship between the stony shore and the built environment, while usual conditions involve strong surf. From this stretch of the island's north coast, Teide can be seen to the west, emerging between the clouds on neighbouring Tenerife. Access is easy on foot, with parking, an interurban bus connection and litter bins.
