What it is like
Playa del Sombrerito is a small isolated beach in Arico, formed by rock and gravel and opening onto a semi-urban coastal waterfront. It measures 100 metres long and 14 metres wide, with vegetation and protection under the category of Natural Habitats of Community interest. Reaching it requires walking, as cars cannot reach the beach, a feature that helps explain its low visitor numbers. The surroundings have parking and are connected by interurban route 115, but the beach has no facilities of its own.
