What it is like
Playa de Calas de Ladrido, also called Vidueiros, comprises barely 20 metres in length and 10 metres in width in an isolated space of golden sand and rock. The scarcity of sand and its disappearance under water at high tide explain why it is used mainly by local residents. The mountain frontage, vegetation and joint protection by the Site of Community Importance (SCI), the Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and Ramsar frame these coves within a distinctive coastal landscape. They are reached on foot or by car via the DP-6101; the final access forms part of the Ruta intermareal de Ladrido.
