What it is like
Cala Calitjàs, also called Cala Calitges, is a small isolated cove in the Cap de Creus Natural Park. Coarse golden sand mixes with rounded stones, and a large rock divides the beach in two, within a mountainous landscape with vegetation. It is 110 metres long and 17 metres wide, and its waters become deep quickly; the swell is usually moderate. Access on foot is difficult via the road from Roses to Cala Joncols, with signage, and there is an anchorage area.
