What it is like
Playa de Areas Longas, also known as Basoñas, is a large isolated beach reaching 2,100 metres in length. Golden sand combines with rock and opens onto a landscape of dunes, vegetation and an area protected under the Natura 2000 Network, with an average width of only 34 metres. Its low occupancy contrasts with usual conditions of strong swell and wind, features that form part of its coastal identity. Access is easy on foot from the C-550; the interurban route between Noia and Ribeira is five kilometres away.
