About this reservoir
Embalse de Alqueva identifies an official inland bathing area in Cheles, Badajoz, also known as La Dehesa. The site is located at the Alqueva reservoir and has grass, sand, vehicle parking, a children’s playground, parasols, picnic areas and a beach bar. Cheles beach is about five kilometres from the town and is set within the Extremaduran dehesa landscape. The site also includes a jetty with moorings for boats.
