Playa Calamocarro lies outside the urban centre of Ceuta, surrounded by pine-covered hills. Its shoreline of pebbles and gravel reaches 650 metres in length and 15 metres in width, within a semi-urban mountainous frontage. The usual waves are moderate and occupancy is medium. It is easily accessed on foot or by car from the N-354, with fewer than 50 parking spaces and an urban bus service. Cleaning and litter bins are the main facilities in the surroundings.
