What it is like
Playa de O Portal is an isolated beach of white sand and rock, opening onto a mountainous frontage protected as Espacio Natural. Its 96 metres of length and 5 metres of width form a narrow stretch covered with vegetation, with customary moderate waves and wind; there is also an anchorage area. Access is only on foot via the Couso path, which the entry describes as being in very poor condition, although boat access is also listed. The PO-551 remains the reference road and the bus service is 8 kilometres away.
