What it is like
Playa de la Gola is a natural beach associated with the wetland landscape of the Paraje Natural de las Salinas de Santa Pola. Its profile combines golden sand with considerable length: 1,655 metres long and 20 metres wide, in an isolated, lightly occupied stretch. The surroundings include vegetation and features associated with the salt flats, including the Bras del Port jetty and several Civil War bunkers. It is easily reached on foot from El Pinet or Tamarit; there is also an interurban bus service and signposted access. The beach has litter bins and a cleaning service.
