Beach at a glance
What it is like
Gran y d'Es Portal is the main beach of Cadaqués and the point where much of the local activity is concentrated. Its 200 metres in length and 15 metres in width form an urban shoreline of dark sand and gravel, beside a promenade and with calm waters. The area is protected as a Cultural Heritage Asset and allows anchoring, in a setting with both maritime and urban use. It is easily reached on foot or by car, although parking is limited, with fewer than 50 spaces.
