What it is like
Playa del Golfo is an isolated, narrow beach measuring 600 metres in length, lying before a mountainous frontage. Its surface combines dark sand and gravel in just 10 metres of width, with usually low occupancy and strong waves and wind. It forms part of protected natural areas, ZEC and ZEPA, a feature that defines the setting. Access is from the LZ-703 and LZ-704 roads, on foot or by car, with parking for fewer than 50 vehicles and catering services.
