What it is like
Playa del Carmolí extends for 3,000 metres beside the Mar Menor, on an isolated beach of dark sand and barely 5 metres in width. Its dune frontage, vegetation and protected landscape form a natural setting with low occupancy and calm waters, although the description warns that the surroundings are in an unfavourable condition. The GR 92 runs through the area. It is easily reached on foot, by car or by boat, with parking for fewer than 50 vehicles; it offers no beach services.
