What it is like
Cala de la Media Luna is a small cove of dark sand set beneath a cliff frontage, within Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park and its Biosphere Reserve. It is 185 metres long and 37 metres wide, surrounded by vegetation and offering calm waters, although occupancy is high despite its isolated character. Access is easy on foot or by car via the AL-3115, with parking for fewer than 50 vehicles and an interurban bus service. Facilities are limited to litter bins and a cleaning service.
