What it is like
A Ponte, also called Playa del Puente Sur, occupies an extensive area of golden sand on La Toja island. Its 500 metres in length and 250 metres in width form part of an urban frontage, with a promenade, vegetation and calm waters, within a Ramsar site. The beach’s most distinctive feature is its main use for shellfishing on foot, while it is hardly used for bathing. It is easily reached on foot or by car via the road from O Grove to La Toja, with parking for between 50 and 100 vehicles.
